MEDAL OF HONOR TO SENIOR PESHMERGES! |
|
It has been learnt that granting the senior peshmerges of the PUK with medals of honor and paying them a salary 150 thousand Iraqi Dinars more than other peshmerges have disturbed other peshmerges under the other Kurdish parties. According to the online Nasiriyah newspaper, senior peshmerges affiliated with the Kurdistan Zahmetkesan Party (KZP), the Kurdistan Communist Party (KCP) and the Kurdistan Democratic Socialist Party (KDSP) are reactive against the PUK leadership due to this discrimination.
Parties other than the PUK are disturbed because of this discrimination, said Muhammad Rashid, the Vice Chairman of the Kurdistan Senior Peshmerges Association. All peshmerges are fighting together in the mountains, stated Hemed Emin Abdullah, a senior peshmerge from the KCP, demanding equal rights.
It is against the law that the PUK and the KDP are both keeping peshmerge forces within their structures. These two parties should be sued and closed down, underlined certain circles.
As is known, the Article 9 of the Iraqi Constitution that was passed in 2005 following the US intervention stipulates that militia other than the Iraqi Army cannot be maintained. However, Kurdish parties do not obey this constitution. Kurdish parties, which claim to be loyal to the constitution when it comes to Kirkuk and the controversial regions, show their true respect (!) to the laws. As a matter of fact, Kurdish parties aim to use their armed forces against the circles that stand out against their dominance and pillage and also against the central government when the time is ripe.
