| THERE IS NO REASON ANYMORE TO DEFEND ISRAEL |
|
 The attack perpetrated by the Israeli soldiers on the aid ship heading
for Gaza still get reactions from the international community as well
as Israel. Now, even the Israeli people and nongovernmental
organizations have started criticizing their government in a harsh
manner.
The government is trying to silence these organizations by force due
to the raising voices. Gideon Levy from daily Haaretz notes that
there has emerged severe cracks in the democratic system of Israel
and there are efforts to render illegitimate and silence any
nongovernmental organization through a systematic way. Meanwhile, the
Israeli people are questioning their government, which sent armed
soldiers to the ship and did not recognize the right of freedom of
another country. Such discourse of the people indicates how big the
responsibility of the Israeli government was in the recent incidents.
The Israeli Leadership is continuing to produce various pretexts in
order to justify the operation in which nine individuals were
killed. As it is known, no Israeli soldiers were killed in the attack.
However, the Leadership attempted to demand an explanation for its
slightly injured soldiers. It ridiculously showed to the whole world a
few iron pieces which it found in the ship and described as weapon.
First of all, Israel has to account for the losses caused by its armed
soldiers it had embarked on the ship
What could these people, who had
no aim other than humanitarian assistance and among whom there was a
child at the age of one, be doing on a ship equipped with weapons as
Israel claims?...
The Palestinian people have, for years, been struggling and protecting
themselves against Israels phosphorous bombs and advanced weapons by
using the small stones on the roads and slingshots. Thus, what the
innocent people did on the ship is nothing but a self-defense.
